Granite Care and Precautions
Use coasters under all glasses, particularly those containging alcohol or citrus juices. Many common
food and drinks contain acids that will etch or dull the surface of many stones. Do not place hot items
directly on the stone surface. Use trivets or mats under hot dishes and placemats under china, ceramics,
silver or other objects that can scratch the surface.

Stains
Blot the spill with a paper towel immediately. Don't wipe the area, it will spread the spill. Flush the area
with plain water and mild soap and rinse several times. Dry the area thoroughly with a soft cloth.
Repeat if necessary. If the stain remains, refer to STAIN REMOVAL section.

Do and Don'ts.
DO Clean surfaces with mild detergent or stone soap or commercial granite cleansers
DO Thoroughly rinse and dry the surface after washing
DO Blot up spills immediately
DO pretect counter top surfaces with coasters, trivets, or placements

DON'T Use vinegar, lemon juice or other cleaners containing acids on granite surfaces
DON'T Use cleaners that contain acid such as bathroom cleaners, grout cleaners or tub & tile cleansers
DON'T Use abrasive cleaners such as dry cleansers or soft cleanser.
DON'T Mix bleach and ammonia; this combination creates a toxit and lethal gas

Sealing
Our counter tops are sealed. This service is our compliment to our customer. Sealing enhances your
counter tops stain resistance and minimizes bacteria colonies from forming on these surfaces. After
purchase your granite counter top, it should be resealed at least every six monts to two years. How
much you use your kitchen will play a part in how often it needs to be resealed. When you reseal, be
sure to choose a non-toxic sealer, since counters are used for food preparation. Applying a sealer is
easy, you can apply a liberal amount of sealer in the evening before going to bed and just let it
penetrate and cure overnight.

General Precautions
When any surface protection product is used, care must be taken to read and follow the Manufacturer's
written instructions accurately. This will provide the greatest benefit form the application and will
guarantee safe handling of the product.
