Our Process

Before we start installing granite countertops, we guide you through the entire process to ensure you get the right fit. We begin by making the granite selection process more enjoyable. Instead of allowing the customer to become overwhelmed by all of the choices, we help them identify the right color and pattern for their design plan.

First, we will discuss your remodeling project so that we have a better understanding of how to assist you in your stone selection. During our discussion, we give you a better understanding of our company and our track record of performance. We offer you a broad array of choices, so you find the right look at the right price. Match your design plan to the color that makes the most sense and integrate every room in your home into one theme. Lastly, if there is a variety of granite that you wish to see, but it is currently not in stock, we will dedicate time to finding a stone supplier that has what you are looking for.

Your Estimate

Once you have chosen the right type of stone, we will provide you with an itemized estimate for your review. Our square footage pricing includes:

  • Material
  • Template
  • Fabrication
  • Installation
  • Layout Template Options
  • Two Complimentary Edges (Ease or Pencil Round)

This is the time for you to choose a sink type, edge profiles, backsplash pattern, range type, and removal if needed. Once an estimate has been signed, your design consultant will work with you to schedule a time for detailed measurement and create a template of your countertops.

Measurement/Templating

One of our experienced and qualified designers or installers will come to your home to take accurate measurements of the square footage and linear footage of your countertops. Other information that we gather includes the range type, your backsplash dimensions, and any corner treatments.

A template is traditionally completed at the same time as the measurement. Your installation professional creates a pattern using wood strips. Once the detailed analysis and templating are completed, your design consultant will then calculate the exact square footage of your project and update your estimate for your review.

Final Fabrication

Professionalism and attention to detail guide our fabricators in everything they do. Once the paperwork has been completed, and the quote is finalized, the process of fabrication begins. Template layouts are documented, and a firm installation date is set with your design consultant. Once fabricated, your countertop pieces are then meticulously inspected before being loaded to the truck for installation.

Convenient Installation

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that your installation process runs as smoothly as possible. We do everything we can to avoid disrupting your life. The average installation takes about four hours. Together with our design consultant, you will review a pre-installation check sheet before the process begins.

The installation is generally completed by a two-person crew. Projects that involve large pieces or smaller rooms (or both) traditionally require larger installation crews. Our installers also take several steps to ensure that they maintain cleanliness throughout the process by sweeping and vacuuming any debris or dust caused by the installation.

Customer Survey/Comments

Your satisfaction is our top priority. Once our installation crew has completed the project, we will take the time to ask you about every aspect of the process. We ask the important questions about your kitchen so we can make sure you are satisfied in the future.

Do and Don’ts

DO Clean Surfaces with Mild Detergent or Stone Soap or Commercial Granite Cleansers
DO Thoroughly Rinse and Dry the Surface after Washing
DO Blot up Spills Immediately
DO Protect Counter Top Surfaces with Coasters, Trivets, or Placements

DON’T Use Vinegar, Lemon Juice, or Other Cleaners Containing Acids on Granite Surfaces
DON’T Use Cleaners That Contain Acid Such as Bathroom Cleaners, Grout Cleaners, or Tub and Tile Cleansers
DON’T Use Abrasive Cleaners Such as Dry Cleansers or Soft Cleansers.
DON’T Mix Bleach and Ammonia – This Combination Creates a Toxic and Lethal Gas

Sealing

Our countertops are sealed as a service to our valued customers. Sealing enhances your countertop’s stain resistance and prevents bacteria from thriving on these surfaces. After you purchase your granite countertop, it should be resealed at least every six months and every two years at most. How much you use your kitchen will play a part in how often it needs to be resealed. Be sure to choose a non-toxic sealer, since counters are used for food preparation. You can apply a liberal amount of sealer in the evening before going to bed and just let it penetrate and cure overnight.

General Precautions

When any surface protection product is used, care must be taken to read and follow the manufacturer’s written instructions accurately. This will maximize the impact of the application.
